Cobra and Flotation Energy plc have secured rights for their 100 MW White Cross floating wind project in the Celtic Sea. Flotation Energy’s Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, Lord Nicol Stephen, said “We are delighted to have secured rights for White Cross. This gives us a great opportunity to apply the lessons learned from developing and delivering the Kincardine offshore floating wind project, to apply new designs, materials and construction methods, and to prepare for commercial deployment of the technology across the UK. We look forward to working with the regional supply chain and continuing to build our team to deliver Whitecross and our broader portfolio”. The White Cross project builds on development rights secured for the 480MW Morecambe offshore wind project in the Irish Sea and our project development portfolio in the UK, Ireland, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.
